“Having attended governance and strategic planning sessions with Michelle in the past, when my Board requested the same, I did not hesitate to highly recommend her services. Michelle’s knowledge and experience in all aspects of leadership and management from both CEO and Board Director’s perspective is vast, and she imparts her expertise in an articulate, dynamic, and engaging manner. I would encourage any organisation seeking training in leadership and governance to look no further than Michelle - she’s brilliant !”- Sarah Charlton - Chief Executive Officer Holyoake Tasmania Inc.

- Women in Leadership Workshop - Participant FeedbackRegional Development Australia, Tasmania (RDAT) engaged Michelle to deliver a short governance training session to our Committee (Board) and staff. Our group ranged from someone with no governance experience, though a Committee Member on their first Board to more experienced members including a FAICD.
RDAT greatly benefited from Michelle’s flexibility, which allowed us to hone in on what we need to learn, what we needed to do, and have the discussion that generated broad consensus around what we need to do next.
Group members at all levels of their governance journey expressed high levels of satisfaction with the session and valued individual as well as whole organisation learnings. Michelle’s expertise in meeting individual needs of such a diverse group while scaffolding, supporting and meeting whole of organisation goals from the session was outstanding.- Professor Sue Kilpatrick - Chair Regional Development Australia, Tasmania
Michelle has been engaged by Burnie Works to provide Strategic Planning support at both a governance and program level. Her skills and experience allow her to play the roles of both independent facilitator and critical friend in assisting groups to deepen their strategic vision and to be creative and innovative in their responses to complex issues.- Rodney Greene, Systems Leader Burnie Works
Langford Support Services engaged Leadership and Change Consultants to facilitate the development of our new Strategic Plan following some positive feedback from other organisations who had engaged them. From the beginning it was clear that the industry knowledge Michelle and Manuel bought to the table was going to be a big advantage to what can sometimes be a process of herding cats. Meetings with the senior leadership team and production of a white paper allowed for a level of alignment to be achieved with stakeholders and the Board and this ensured that we absolutely nailed the plan and initiatives in a one-day Board and management session. I would highly recommend Leadership and Change Consultants for strategic planning.

Coaching -
I have benefited greatly from engaging Michelle as an Executive Coach. Her ability to simultaneously challenge and coax my critical thinking of complex issues has enabled me to leverage existing strengths and improve problem solving skills. Having a trusted relationship with a Coach is incredibly important and good humour, empathy for role challenges, and the safe reflective environment Michelle provides in her coaching has ultimately enhanced my leadership ability.- Alison O'Neill, past CEO MRC Tasmania
MRC Tasmania has engaged Leadership and Change Consultants on multiple occasions to support navigating a range of strategic issues from cyclical reviews to unique projects. The benefits of consistent engagement with a reliable agency have included access to a range of specialist consultants, with relevant and current experience in our sector. Michelle has personally facilitated on a number of occasions, and I have appreciated her skilful ability to find harmony between the final objective and identifying and guiding the road map necessary to support achievement. I have no hesitation in recommending LACC.- Alison O'Neill, past CEO Migrant Resource Centre Tasmania
Commencing an extensive external review of our Board was a significant step forward. We wanted frank and fearless advice about how we could continue to take TasCOSS forward. As part of that review, as Chair, I opened myself up to anonymous feedback from my colleagues. It was daunting. Michelle Swallow’s deft approach to preparation and delivery of the review gave me and the Board great confidence in her findings. I am confident it also helped instil further zeal for the recommended work to be done.
I won’t hesitate to recommend Michelle to other organisations if they require leadership and strategic expertise. TasCOSS has a great plan to take forward, and Michelle has been a big part of that.
- Alexander McKenzie President, TasCOSSCoaching sessions with Michelle were a flow on from an organisational workshop facilitated by Michelle and Rikki on communication, cultural change and conflict resolution. The individual coaching sessions have consolidated the areas explored and have provided me with strategies and ideas not previously considered.
The lens in which Michelle invites you to gaze through gives another perspective to what may be happening in the workplace and a reminder that everyone carries their own unique story and behaviours from past experiences. I have appreciated Michelle’s willingness to unpack areas that I have been stuck in and have found the tools suggested to be very useful. I believe the outcomes have been evident with higher staff morale and sense of belonging, greater processes to address any conflict in a timely manner, and supporting the whole staff team day objectives. The sessions have given me confidence to continue developing a leadership style that is effective and mindful.
- Keryn Geard Programs Manager, Cornerstone Youth Health ServiceHaving attended governance training workshops run by Michelle a few years ago I was confident in approaching Leadership and Change Consultants to provide tailored governance training for the Board of Magnolia Place, Launceston Women’s Shelter. The current Board is comprised of women from a diverse range of backgrounds with differing governance experience. Therefore, Michelle developed an agenda with us which ensured the fundamentals of governance were addressed along with more specific areas that the Board is currently reviewing, such as conversations around our strategic plan and constitution.
Michelle is a skilled educator and with her extensive experience provides a wealth of innovative and contemporary tools, skills and knowledge that she generously shares to encourage, motivate and equip others. On behalf of the Board I would like to say a big thank you to Michelle.
